Iulia is an iconographer and designer based in Devon, England. She specialises in the production of egg tempera icons on wood panels. The designs, methods and materials are inspired by traditional sacred iconographic exemplars and her current work is particularly influenced by Insular manuscripts, the frescoes of Pietro Cavallini in Santa Cecilia, Rome, the Daphni mosaics and the work of Fr. Zinon.

All of the work is meticulously designed and crafted by Iulia according to the highest possible traditional standards using beautiful, carefully selected natural materials including hand crafted wood panels, mineral & earth pigments, and gold leaf.

Iulia welcomes commissions for icons, in particular for those to be used in liturgical spaces and those for newly beatified saints. She also designs for screen printed & hand crafted textiles. Iulia is available for talks & demonstrations and individually guided tuition. She is a member of the Society of Catholic Artists and the British Association of Iconographers.
